I use pla sand in my setup. It's been there a year. In July I plan to change it out with new sand. Probably wont do a complete change out either. It's just not stinky. I'm so pleased it has done so well. I just think its time for fresh sand. I did add a new bag once and I added PDZ a couple of times in the year but that's all. Fresh sand and PDZ and my 4 will be good for anothèr year. I use it in the poop board too in the upper roost area.
