Need Advice On Incubator Please?

I currently have a 1602 model and would like to know if I should just buy a fan for it or should I get the 1588 model instead? Is the 1588 all that much different? Will putting a fan in the 1602 make it as good as the 1588? Any help greatly appreciated!

I've never used the 1602 model, but I'm also not one to build my own bators and stuff either. I do have the 1588 Genesis and it ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! I loooove it. The only drawback I see is it is syrofoam and not plastic, so it's harder to clean the side styrofoam walls compared to plastic. I was thinking of saving up to get a comparable Brinsea, which I've generally heard good things about, but those are much more expensive.

the primary purpose of the fan is to eliminate hot and cold spots in the incubator. I do not know about those particular models, we do the homemade thing here.

Just put a "computer fan" in it. (There are many threads about doing this ...here on BYC. Just do a "SEARCH" for "computer fan" )

You can always buy a replacement Styrofoam box for the hovabator. They are not that expensive. I've also seen a website where some bought exterior caulking and painted the inside with it. Watch out that you keep the small holes open when applying. After that you can clean it much easier. Seems to work well. I'm thinking of doing it with my machine.
