Last year I was successful (for the first part of laying season) in getting my guinea hens to make their nests inside their house. We have been upgrading their house and I want to add some more permanent nesting boxes for them. Can you stack the nesting boxes or should they all be floor level? Thanks in advance!

My recommendation is to make them floor level although some have had success with elevated nest boxes. At least one member uses wheelbarrows for her nest boxes. Another builds hiding places with bales of straw.

Good luck.

i just got a 6 hole metal set of nesting boxes from an out of business commercial chicken farm. I am leaving mine on the ground. I'll check back to let you know how that works.
Right now everyone lays everywhere.... My 2 confused ducks are actually getting up into the chicken coop 4 feet off the ground to lay, even though one of their flock is sitting on eggs in the duck hoop coop and there are 4 more boxes in the duck coop. Also have one duck who tries to lay in the horses feed bucket although I think the horse got pissed yesterday and dumped her feed so the duck couldn't get in it. 2 chickens are laying on top the bales of straw in the duck house... so who knows what the guineas will do.

Straw bale caves and large feeders with straw in them seem to entice my hens. No guarantees, but they seem to be prime real estate for starting a new family! Good luck!
