Mostly adults will be using the game. I plan on waiting to get the balance board until next month when the new one comes out. We want to use it for games but also for fitness activities.

What other accessories are "must haves" and "useless" ?

Didn't they have nunchucks or something like that? I'd skip those....

Actually, the nunchuks are necessary for many of the sports games. Look for a sports pack that gives you the bat, golf club, etc... There is also a new motion stabilizer chip that I haven't got yet. It's supposed to really make a difference.

One nunchuck comes with the game and one regular controller. I'm thinking we'll get an extra nunchuck and at least one extra controller.

Anyone know about the rechargeable type? Are they all wireless?

I didn't know about the stabilization chip! thanks.

The rechage stations are a must. Unless you like paying a lot of money for batteries.

If your doing any games in a group you will need 4 controllers and nunchucks, most games can handle 4 And its funner that way, if you plan on getting Mario cart you will need the steering wheel, wii fit is great, I'm in my 40's and love the wii, raving rabbit good too for a party (group) game

Has anyone tried a dance pad? If so, which one and did it work well? I tried one at the store but because I'm not going to really try in front of the whole store I wasn't sure if it was any good.

What accesories you need depends on the games you get. We have 4 remotes, 4 nunchucks, then we got a sports pack with the steering wheel, golf club, bat...etc. We need at least 1 more wheel and golf club. We love the Wii Fit too, especially my 6yr old daughter. I never thought I'd see my parents playing video games like they play the Wii.

You don't really need the sport accessories. They give a more real experience and some people think they give more control. When my kids play Mariocart, my daughter uses the wheel but my two sons don't. They get better control using the controller tipped sideways. You do need a nunchuk for each controller because most games require it. Charger is a must as well-the charge lasts a long time.
My fave games are LEGO series (batman, star wars, and indy jones). My daughter likes MySims. [IMG]

I have the dance pad, It's called hottest party and it came with the game disc. It works well, but I don't use it that much.
