Need advice regarding wood coop or vynil please

Hi! :welcome
I live in NE Indiana and considered a plastic shed or coop. However, I have no shade so was talked out of it. We just built our own wood coop for the chickens. I also just modified a plastic playhouse for my ducks. Since ducks rarely use their house except for sleeping, it should work just fine.
The last few days the weather has been much nicer and warmer.
I can definitely tell the difference when I stick my head into the wood vs the plastic when it is warm and the sun is shining.
Here is the link for the state thread. This is the current last page. I would say, it is pretty active.

I have only seen the vinyl coops, never owned one, but the ones I have seen have been very small.

Indiana has snow doesn't it? If you do get snow I HIGHLY recommend a roofed run because chickens really don't like playing around in the snow. They like it even less when it is snowy and windy. If you get lots of snow and wind, or just lots of cold wind, a three sided roofed run would be fantastic.

I wrote an article about building coops in cold weather that might be helpful.
