First time hatcher, so if this is common knowlegde I apologize. Last night one pipped and then hatched today, but seems it is still attached to the shell with what looks to be a "cord", also there is a small amount of blood in the shell. Is this normal, do I need to do anything? Temp is 100.2 humidity is in the upper 50's.

Thank you, it had me worried. But you seem to think its normal, so let it go to this evening I will.

They will absorb it, after he is dry he can go to the brooder. That cord will bot last longer than a few hours unless something is wrong with him.

If it is just the cord, don't worry... This will dry up and break from the shell in no time... If there is a gooey sack attached, then this is the yolk and it still needs to be absorbed... from what you are saying, it sounds like just the cord though....
