Background..... Had five guineas on nest. In the last week all but two were raided by something and took all eggs. Eggs are scheduled to hatch (day 28) on 21st. Guinea was not on nest last night, and did not see her this morning. Temps here are 100+ during the day and in the 80ies at night. Do you think the eggs are still viable?? I candled and threw in my bator that is already running. Do I go get an LG at TSC in the morning to try to hatch?
Have one keet that we can see in the 2nd nest. This nest is surounded by cactus on all but one side. Do we try to take the keet? If yes any suggestions on how to do that??? We never see this guinea off. Day and night she is always on it.
Thanks for any advice!!

There's a good chance those eggs are still viable, so yes I'd say you can put the eggs in the incubator, but I'd candle them first to get an idea of how far developed they are so you get the general idea of how much longer they need to be incubated. If there isn't much development I'd candle them at least once a week to monitor development, but if they are mostly dark and you can see keet movement I'd candle them every few days. Remember to turn them at least 3 X a day, (unless you have an automatic egg turner). When the air cells start slanting really noticeably, I'd stop turning them, (or remove the egg turner), increase the humidity to 65%-70% for the lockdown period and then wait it out until they hatch

Good luck. You can PM me if you need any incubation advice.

If you want the keets that have hatched, then yes, take them from the Mom... they may not survive if you don't.
Shew, braving cacti and a mean Hen at the same time, more power to ya lol

,Many times i have pulled eggs from a guinea nest 2 days after they left with keets and hatch alot of the leftovers in my hatcher.
Done the same with geese and chicken eggs also.

Go for it can't hurt to try

Update...... Momma hatched 5 keets, 4pearl 1 pied. I got one yesterday, and the other four today. Mom was very good for the few days she had them, even taking they to the coop and the four spent last night in there with her. I put eggs on lockdown today after finding three had pipped, so we should have more by morning.

Thank you for the advice, I'm very thankful for this group!!!!

Ps Momma was NOT happy and continued to look for the keets several hours after we took them!!!
