Trying to post so all can see as I need answers....hope this gets 'there'.....I have a problem with a suspected disease called "salpingitis".
The hen becomes waddling fat and feels like a bowl of jello when you pick her up.....have lost one already, now have another showing the same illness...they eat and drink but don't of course lay...get to a point they can hardly walk and move with a 'penguin walk' with tail pointing down. Another is showing signs of the same problem. I have been told to clean their legs with vinegar (28 hens?) I realize I must separate the sick one (S) from the flock.....any advice would be helpful.
Thanks.
Johanna
