Need advise on coop

Rethink your plans! Hens will want AT LEAST four or five sq. ft. of floor space EACH, and you won't be happy crawling into a very short coop, unless you are actually less than four ft. tall. Four eight birds, the coop should be 35 to 40 sq. ft., and walk-in tall for your sake. How about repurposing a garden shed? Or build a three sided shed? Mary

Product Dimensions: 79.5”(L) x 26.5”(W) x 51.5”(H) Would this b ok for 8 cinnamon queens?
This sounds like the dimensions from a prefab coop with run?
Prebably way too small but.....Got a link?

It is a prefab coop, I don't have a shed and can't b a permanent structure I guess I'm just gonna give up I've designed a coopnthat was for 6 chickens that was 8 ft wide x 8 ft deep and 5 ft tall was told it was OK but once priced out was over 500 dollars for all, I'm a single mom of 3 and always wanted chickens but looks like it's either too expensive to do or not a good design so maybe it's time to move on thanx for the help

400

And I'm not structural so sq ft doesn't make any sense to me that's all anyone ever says is the square foot which for me means a 40ft x 40 ft square structure

How handy are you at building things?
Know anybody that is handy and could help you build a coop?
Have you checked CL to see if anybody is selling a used coop?
Or maybe consider fewer chickens?

If I knew deminsions but all I ever get is square foot so when I get 40 square foot I understand it as a 40 ft by 40 foot large structure

If you want 8 chickens, at 4 square feet each, that is a min of 32 square feet.
4 square feet is a 2ft by 2ft box (other sizes will make it as well, but look at it as 2x2).
So your 32 sq ft can be accomplished with a 4ft x 8ft space.

40 sqft would be a 4 x 10 floor plan.
Or 6 x 8 floor plan would be 48 sqft

Chicks are cheap, and feed is reasonably cheap, with enough egg sales you can end up with free eggs....that's the romance.
.....but the reality is that good housing is not inexpensive, and there are other costs that pop up that can turn the whole endeavor into a money pit.
I'm sorry.
