So after trying to actually see who is laying I finally just got to see an egg being layed. Yeah how exciting. She stayed there for about 15 seconds after it dropped and when it did I thought it sounded like it may have cracked, but I wasn't sure. I thought that when she turned towards the egg she was going to check it out like look what I just did, but instead she broke it and started eating it. AAAHHH, I scooted her out of the nest and scooped it up. This was the second soft shell egg I found the other was two days ago on the coop floor. There was two eggs in the nest box right next to her that have been from the two I knew were laying. Will she start going after other eggs now too? Was it because she knew it cracked? What do I do now???? I'm so upset. I have been paranoid about this as it was and I get to witness it, great. Thanks for any help.
