Need advise please

Hello,
I need some advise! I lost 8 of my ducks last weekend due to a weasel. We now know what happened and have secured the area, sadly this happened after 6 years of no problems. Here is my problem, I have 1 surviving girl she is a runner. I also have 6 chickens. I know she needs a friend, but I can't find any adult ducks to join her. Will she be ok alone? I am so afraid to let her out on the pond just by herself. If you have any suggestions at all I am all ears!!!!

The chickens will help for now, but ultimately she really needs a duck friend. Could you maybe get a couple sexed female ducklings and brood them until old enough to introduce?

Thank you so much! I am trying to find one or two adult females to join her and I have 5 new babies coming that I ordered today. My heart just breaks for her, I hate that she is alone. She is still recovering, but I hope to put her out with the chickens soon.

You're doing everything you can to help her and get her a friend, that's commendable

If she's isolated currently, a mirror may help with loneliness

Look on CL for companions also your local animal shelter. If nothing you can always post on CL as a Wanted ad

Second on Craigslist. Just make sure to quarantine and do see no touch no before Introducing her..
