I have a chicken that will hatch her eggs on the 19th of may, I also have a duck that is siting on her eggs but they wont hatch cause an eagle took my male duck. so I wanted to know if it was ok for me to take one or two of my chicken eggs on the day they're supposed to hatch and put them under my duck..... I'm not sure if the chicks will be ok. and If I do decide to do that will the chicks be ok with the duck? like will she take them in?

No! The rule of thumb is water chicks can go under non water hens but non water chicks can not go under water hens. A chicken raising ducks will stand at the water's edge screaming while her "chicks" (duck chicks) are swimming but won't go in herself. A duck will try to teach it's "chicks" (chicken chicks) how to swim and they will either drown or freeze.

Oh.. Okay I just didn't want my duck to sit on her eggs knowing they won't hatch : (

A lot of feed stores are selling ducklings right now. You could always wait until it is near time for hatch and replace the eggs she is sitting on with some feed store ducklings. That will make her happy and not put anything in danger.

Just wanted to reinforce the above post. I tried having a duck hatch chicken eggs years ago and it didn't end well.

You could use her to incubate the eggs, if you want, and take the chicks as they hatch and brood them yourself, that could work. Just don't have access to any bodies of water.
