Well, we got our first roo from a friend tonight but we have no idea what he is, sooo looking for helps on identification. Next to the other chickens (hens- RIR's, BR and SL) he is much smaller.
He actually is about the same size as my white leg-horn.
Could he be a baby?? or just a small roo???

I have no other information at this point about age or anything.

He looks just like the rooster on the front of the Meyer Hatchery catalog from 2007--a Welsummer. Except yours looks much prettier!

Inside the catalog they show a brown leghorn that also looks like a match. However, the catalog says the leghorn roos get to be 6 lbs. and Welsummer's are 7 lbs.

Enjoy him--whatever he is--he's beautiful!

BTY- thanks didn't know there was a forum for that (forgot to scroll down)
