Need Buff Orphintons

i am in NC and wanting some of the above, preferably the beige colored hens solely. My problem is that online hatcheries sell in lots of 25 or more and my chicken coop that is being built now will only house 4-6 chickens. What does anyone suggest? Open to any ideas . I am in Randolph County right outside of Randleman and Asheboro.

you can order them from mypetchicken, you can buy a minimum of 3 at a time

you can also order smaller amounts through Ideal Hatchery.
Their minimum is a $$ amount, not chick amount.
Shipping cost is very reasonable. Chicks all arrived happy and healthy in just one day ship time to Massachusetts

i ordered from mypetchicken, but you should be aware that MPC works with meyer hatchery, so you can get the same birds from meyer if you prefer. same chicks, same price. they have a 3 chick minimum to most locations, although you're going to pay for express shipping and special packing fees. for me, it was worth it. i needed 15 chicks and that's what i was able to get. 25 would've been way too many.

Ask around local. Look on craigs list or free cycle. If you want 6 chicks and you are ordering from a hatchery or MPC you should order 10 - 12. Loss of chicks in the first 2 weeks is very common.

Weve considered ordering the full 25, and selling a few through craigslist.
