Need cheap and easy ideas for a large run

I agree. It's the most cost effective. And possibly effective. I say possibly effective because like mentioned above, hunting dogs have a special tolerance to pain and will breach a hotwire.
A average pet with the instinctive to chase, your most likely okay.
If you have a strong enough current, I'm sure a hunting dog would think twice before attempting breaching an electric wire again. My wires are around 9000 volts +-.

Thank you both for posting that. When I first saw the pricing, I almost had a heart attack. Then I did some figuring - since none of my runs would be 25' wide it's actually great pricing and in the end should work for my application and be less expensive overall than other ideas. And still allow me to walk standing upright in the runs I'm building. It may change if/when we find it won't work for predator loads, but the plan isn't to leave them out in the runs at night, but in their coop/pens.
I've put up a lot of that netting alone over all of my pens. If you have any questions, ask. I started originally with my big pen area which is made up of several pens, so I had to go from pen to pen and work the netting across 200' of pens. I had to work the netting around the trees. It wasn't easy. Good luck...

I also have wood T posts in some of the pens to hold the netting up somewhat. My fences are 5' tall which is my height but it still sags a bit so I have to duck a little under it in places so I put in some wood T posts. I don't care if they rot, I'll make new ones. I had a really bowed piece of wood but decided to use it anyway because it wasn't good for anything.

For years we had 2" chicken wire over our small run roof, and it did okay in snow. Finally we had the whole thing rebuilt as a roofed coop addition, so no snow shoveling, and a much better all-weather coop/ run combination!

OK… I live in the South Carolina so we don’t get a lot of snow so I’m really not sure about how it does in a lot of snow. We normally get about 4 inches total during the year but hopefully someone else can chime in. The aviary netting is nylon and I have the 2 inch holes so most stuff that falls from the trees goes right through.
Thank you! My husband was able to get a strong netting that will hold the snow. We’re in Michigan, so we get a lot of snow. I appreciate you taking the time to help me. 🥰
