Need Chicks in Riverside, CA

I will be needing three to four baby hens within the next few weeks. Just want friendly, pretty, reliable egg producers to keep as pets. I don't have kids, so the animals are as close as I can get. I'm in Riverside. Have no idea where to get chickens...

Call me stupid but can we tell if they're female? I can't deal with a rooster. Don't want to get attached to it, I couldn't get rid of it, and I'd be stuck with multiplying chickens!!!

Well i have started birds that are about a month old. You can come take a look at them if you want? I have tons of Bantam partridge cochins and a few silver phoenix.
