Didn’t bury it as is in the woods. To many roots. Can think of 70 other reasons not to dig it.

No need to bury....that ain't gonna keep rodents and snakes out tho<cringe>not sure it matters tho, depending on where it is in the whole chicken scheme of things.

I wanna do this! so I'm going to follow n hopefully see how "mature lady" friendly it turns out to be.

One thing I just did was make a nest that was easy to move for a mature lady. Comes in two pieces. Top lifts for easy collection. Bottom has hardware cloth to keep shavings out and avoid rodent hiding places. All built from on hand scrap. Why buy new when old will do.
