Need Feedback on Ideal Poultry Silkies

[Crazy for Chickens!]

I am going to e ordering chicks from Ideal Poultry, and I was wondering if anybody had ordered Silkies from them before. I don't care too much about what they look like, but I did want them to have a walnut comb, not single. I know McMurray has walnut combed Silkies, but they don't have much of a variety for other breeds.

I ordered some in June last year. I ordered 10 and received 11. 1 had a single comb. My splash and black pullets are nice but my Buff pullet looks like a run over mini Orp.

Okay, thanks! Yes, there must be so etching with the buffs. I got some from McMurray. The roosters looked okay, but the hen looked terrible! It looked like somebody had pasted all her fluff down on her, and she wasn't pretty at all.

yes that’s how mine looks! Could you order eggs and incubate? My Breeder birds vs ideal are like night and day.

I don't have an incubator, and I want to be able to interact with them, so I can't let a hen set. I'm not much worried, just would prefer to not have single combs on silkies.

You could rehome them if you get any. I think they pop up in several hatcheries.

They look dark now but they will feather in buff. They may have dark wing feathers.

obviously you can't use for show or breeding but i recently bought some from a poultry show that looked like this and now that they are all filled in they look all buff. so just for your pleasure they will be beautiful! i actually chose the one i was keeping that had the most partridge but now can't see any showing! not a fan of hatcheries anyway...do you have poultry shows near where you are? great way to find good breeders and very fun to see them all!
