I live in San Francisco, and I can not find any in my area. I only need 8 eggs for my incubator. If you live close to SF, please reply.

I only need 8 eggs. Everyone ships them in dozens. It would be a waste of the other 4 eggs. I would not want to eat any fertile eggs. Plus, im just a kid. I dont have a debit or credit card. Even if I can manage to buy off ebay , the shipping would be way too much. Also, I dont have have that much money. I dont want to buy online.

You can get from Asian market.

Their quail are put in extremely inhumane and crowded cages. I would not want any quail chicks of the same genetics of theirs.

Brian you can buy e ggs on eBay anytime. About $15.00 for a dozen shipped. I only get about 50 percent hatch on eggs thru the mail.
X2 on this. See if you can give someone you know with a eBay account cash to order them for you, if you can only incubate 8 put the extra in the fridge and they won't be developed so they're perfectly fine to eat. They're just like any other eggs, you can't tell if you're eating a fertile or infertile egg by looking at or tasting it. There are plenty I've seen with free shipping, or that are quite inexpensive after shipping charges.

Eggs from an Asian market are not likely to be fertile, and even if they are refrigeration has probably nullified any chance of hatching them.

The only other thing I can advise is to look on your local craigslist and if you don't see anything post a wanted ad there.

Cheers,
Jessie

I have checked on ebay for a while. I specifically need brown quail eggs ( not jumbo) for my project. Everything is jumbo or texas a and m. But if you see any that are under $10,(including shipping ), please leave a link on this thread

Also keep in mind.. this time a year is not coturnix peak mate season. I wouldn't be surprise the hatching rate down to 25%. I know my jumbo coturnix quail eggs aren't fertilized at all during winter. I built new pen and will see if it help.
