Need foolproof tips on how to use permethrin powder, Please!

Chickens can be dipped, and they love warm water because it relaxes them. I've done it using Permethrin liquid concentrate. Use common sense not to dip them when there are cold temps. Permethrin dust can be used in cold temps. Dont forget to treat inside the coop, nest boxes etc.
Here's a link, scroll down where you can read about Permethrin dips:

I thought so, too, until I read this post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/did-i-just-hurt-my-chicken-with-permethrin-10.1641146/

It could have been more of a dosage/ dilution issue, though.

I am having the hardest time finding any info on dipping chickens with mites in peretherin and the dilution rate. Could you point me in the right direction??? Panic moment over here as we have a sick chicken.
I'm a dog groomer so perhaps that's my source but I'll be damned if I can find it anywhere. I shared it at one time. I thought it was here. Do they make a vaccine for mites too? At work I like Neem oil shampoo for dogs with fleas. I'm sure I used that on the girls at least once too. I've not had any issues. Neither have friends, but we diluted way down.

I'm sorry. Did I respond? There's some info here or there. I saw someone say they used a tsp or tbsp to a quart? I think that's about what I did. None of mine even got sick. I mean, red mites can kill them. I also sprayed the hell out of the pen every few days and I (gasp) used some cedar shavings without issues in the pen area. Not in the coop.

I'm prepping to treat this Black Star for lice and worm her in this photo:

How often do you guys poof booties? I just treat with Dust-On via an infant nasal aspirator when I see mites and then again a week later, but was thinking I should treat quarterly or twice a year to prevent infestation…

It wont prevent, but may well create resistance.
Treat when you see live bugs, treat every 5-7 days until you see no more live bugs.

Here's some tips and info:
Google images of lice/mites and their eggs before the inspection so you'll know what you're looking for.

Part the feathers right down to the skin around vent, head/neck and under wings.

Best done well after dark with a strong flashlight/headlight, easier to 'catch' bird and also to check for the mites that live in structure and only come out at night to feed off roosting birds.

Look fast, they will scatter quickly once the feathers are parted and the light hits them.

Wipe a white paper towel along the underside of roost to look for red smears(smashed well fed mites).
