I didn't want it, but I'm soft hearted. A 5 week old gosling was given to my wife with a sob story to please take it. It is now 6+ weeks old and I have never experienced anything like an imprinted goose. It is absolutely unhappy unless one of us is with it, it yells it's head off in its fenced in area (large) unless one of us is with it. Does not graze, only wants chick feed. Will lay under either one of us all day it seems (lawn chair) and will go to sleep in our lap. I don't mind keeping it, but will it ever get some independence and graze on it's own.

It needs another goose, can you find it a friend?

To be honest with you they need to have other geese so it will not be so lonely. It has imprinted on the two of you and now you are mom and dad and this is why this gosling wants to be every where you are. It is had another goose it would be much happier.

That's what I thought too. I have a sibling to this one coming tonight after I read your responses.
Thank You, (I think)

I got it last night and the neighbor I got them both from and myself could not believe the size difference between them. She wanted to know if mine was on steroids. Nope, just unmedicated chick starter. These are siblings. It has helped with the imprinting.

Aww Bless looks like the other one wasn't being feed very well. Let us see it in a week after giving it some TLC. I'm glad to hear it has helped.

wow it really makes a difference in there food doesn't it ! beautiful little babies they are just so sweet

It must cause the big one (Lucy) is starting to feather like she (it) should. The little one (Lulu Bell) is really filling out, but no feathers. Wife named them. I'da called them Fred & Ethel with high hopes. (Showing my age I guess
