So first off we are renting, landlords on property.. He said he will take roo if possible but they do cockfighting so don't want that. I still don't think it is illegal where we live. So my kids rooms and my landlords moms bedroom face our backyard and chicken coop. My question, if my rir (5weeks) really is a roo any way I can keep him quiet till daytime?
Landlords have multiple Roos and hens, but large property. I know they won't fight him if I tell so and still will be able to see him and just keep him there and me tek care of him. We are all on the same property different yards

Also need any info on Roos I need to know, never considered keeping one. But I love Rosie ...

I'm not sure what your question is. If your landlord has roosters, why would he have a problem with you keeping one? Surely your kids and his mother can hear his, since they're all on the same property. Do you have an enclosed coop for your chickens? Just keep them locked up until you think it's late enough to let them out. Personally, I would not give a rooster to anyone who cockfights, even if mine wasn't a fighting breed (maybe he wants your rooster for supper). I'm not even sure I'd keep on on the same property as fighting birds. I've never had a RIR, but have heard that they can tend to get aggressive as they get older. Be prepared to deal with it if he starts attacking you or other humans. I would not keep a human-aggressive rooster on my property.

I really don't know what my question is ... I am lost. Still finding pics of rir being stockier than others as hens but I have a roo feeling and she looks like it. No it will be my bird staying on his property couple acres. In Hawaii cockfighting is a different story and do not agree w it at all.
She is super friendly so far the most social one to me ... Basically I need info and input on Roos and reasons to not give him away
