NEED HELP ASAP!! Chick has blood on butt??

She's actually is eliminating waste. But it just gets stuck right on the red thing. She's drinking water as I have seen. I have been giving her butt baths with dawn soap and gently pushing in the vent. After I put some hemorrhoid cream on the vent area. But the vent keeps popping back out. Also the only day open for vets are Wednesday.
Is this the worst chick you have seen?
Is this chick in very bad condition and in pain?
And are all chickens who have this problem hens/pullets?
Thanks so so much
Much love from me and my chick

I would soak her in a warm epsom salts bath, this can help reduce some of the swelling. A prolapse will usually not stay in until the swelling has gone down, this is why you need to keep the exposed tissue moist with your hemorrhoid cream. I would wait a while before attempting to push the prolapse back in.

If she is laying down with her head tucked in the corner, she is not doing too well, imho. She is likely exhausted and in pain.

Both males and females can have a prolapsed vent. With a chick this young, it's likely due to constipation/dehydration or it could be a genetic/developmental disorder.

I don’t

I don’t have experience with it but just looking up information on the prolapsed vent I see that hemorrhoid ointment was once the treatment of choice, but is no longer considered appropriate. A hydrocortisone cream is recommended instead. Follow the advice of taking her to a vet but in case you were doing the hemorrhoid cream for her, discontinue that.

Not sure if it can help at all for the prolapse, but one of my first set of chicks had pasty butt and died two days after I got her. Since then, I read, and have been giving new chicks a capful of unfiltered apple cider vinegar (Braggs) in their water and haven't seen the pasty butt since. There are some older posts about prolapse on this site which you may find helpful.
