NEED HELP ASAP !!! Dog was just sprayed in the face by skunk...

Just let the dogs out 5 minutes ago ....one came in and the other didn't . I started to smell skunk , got my gun...opened the door and there was my dog drooling and red eyed . What do I do ?!!! I can put him in the garage....but how do I tone down the smell , and is he ok from getting spray in his eyes ? PLEASE...any advice would be great !!!!!!!!!

my dog gets sprayed every summer i use a can of tomato paste or chucks and just give him a bath. about the eyes idk try just running water over them?

I would rinse his eyes with water and, then pour tomato juice(or tomatoes soup thinned) over his his head. His eyes should be fine though.

Thanks....I was able to get ahold of my hubby....he told me tomato sauce . I just got done...he smells a little better , but I'm going to have to keep him in the house because it's still pretty cold up here at night . I put contact solution in his eyes....seems to be ok . Thanks again everyone .

Tomorrow go to PetSmart or PetCo and get the skunk be gone stuff. Works way better than tomato juice... Been ther done that too many times to say.

wash him in hydrogen peroxide and baking soda diluted with water.

I used tomato juice and let it dry on my dog for hours (all day), then washed/shampooed her and the smell was gone.

Thanks again to everyone....there's a few good ideas here that I might use in the future . I can't use most of them at this point though . Peroxide , vodka etc wouldn't really be very good near his eyes , and leaving the tomato juice on all night won't work because its 37 degrees outside ....my garage is not heated and he's wet....so for now I have to deal with the smell .
