I have already started the process of cleaning. Need to go get some Seven to dust the birds.

Thanks for all your help. I have looked at several posts and so far all the info is good and seems to agree on how to clean the coop and birds.

Hi, if she had lice she didn't die from lice. Lice eat the dead skin that sheds, not suck blood. Mites suck blood, they are real tiny, and not brownish things that you described.
I have a feeling that mine died because the others might have not let them eat, or maybe they stopped eating on their own. I will probably never know why. Usually when you notice the symptoms, it's too late. Birds tend to hide things till the last minute-because they are dinner for predators . Very sorry.

Seminolewind, the OP described them as looking like fleas, 'blonde' in color. From personal experience IMO, that is lice. You are correct about lice/mites. However, lice will ingest blood extruding from irritated skin.
