Hello all,
recently, one of the teachers that goes to my school had her dogs escape. one is a German Shepherd looking dog and an Aussie Shepherd. Those dogs have multiple times escaped her house, which is in a town, and come to MY house, which is WAY outside the town she lives in, like a 7 minute drive away. Anyhoo, her dogs attacked and killed two of my chickens and severely injured another. We contacted her and she is willing to help pay or replace the birds, but my question is how much should I ask for? One bird that was killed, Beebz, was a lemon blue Ameraucana, which I've heard is a very rare color, with individual adult laying birds costing around $40-$100, and the dogs also killed Sandman, my laying Cream Legbar hen. sources are saying that she would be worth around $20-$50+, and Fashion Lady, my Brown Red Ameraucana who was severely injured is possibly around $30-$60. Considering that all the birds mentioned above were high quality show birds, how much should I ask for? She also just had a baby, and I don't want to overwhelm her with too much money.
In the pictures below, Beebz is the One always hiding in the others lol. she was a baby face. Fashion LAdy is the dark brown one screaming in the background. the one pic with the cage is Fashionista and Beebz going to the fair, a long with deceased sister Herobrine

I see Easter Eggers in your pictures, no Ameraucanas. EEs are pretty cheap, so probably wouldn't be anymore then $3 - $10 a bird really. Could probably go as high as $20 per bird if they were active layers though.

I'm so sorry this happened.

Are you planning to bring the injured one in to the vet for medical treatment? If so, that would affect my estimate. Also, the dogs have a history of escaping, and wandered onto your property to attack your birds. I'd be pretty salty and want at least $100. The family needs to control their pets.
