Hello I have a big issue and need help I have a chick who has been trying to get out of the shell for 20 hours he has his beak out of both membranes..but the area all around it has blood flow meaning the 1st membrane is still intact in spots. The outter membrane that I can see is very thick white and leathery. I am thinking the chick is stuck to the inner membrane and I don't know what to do! Is this chick able to be saved? Please Help!
It can take them along time to pip and then zip. Just remember the part of the membrane that you can see may look dried out, but that doesn't mean the rest of the membrane is. It can take over 24 hours for them to get out.
If there is fresh blood he hasn't absorbed all his egg yolk and if you take him out now his guts can/will fall out. I would wrap the egg in a warm moist paper towel, leaving his beak out so he can breathe.
