Need Help Choosing A Breed?!?!?

I need help choosing a breed for my backyard flock. I will be getting 3 hens and have narrowed it down to these!
-Buff Orpington
-Black Austrolorp
-Barred Rock

Buffß are friendly. I have all of them so I would go with the easiest ones to take care of and who like to set with me while I read the paper out back.
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I've had all three of those breeds over the years and they are all three great breeds. I slightly prefer the Black Australorps to the other two breeds as they are the most heat hardy (all three breeds are very cold hardy) and the best layers of the three. All three breeds are generally docile, and Australorps and Orpingtons are especially calm and gentle birds. Our children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) all made lap pets of both our Australorps and Orpingtons. As NorthFlChick said, there is no reason why you can't keep all three breeds together in a flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Whatever breed you decide to get, good luck with your flock.
 
if you only want 1 breed i would say buff orpington, my 1st chicken was a buff orpington her name was karen and she was great!!! she was sweet, docile, calm, she would always run up and jump in my lap to be petted... i was planning on showing her but a raccoon ended her life last year in june. but if you dont care and want to try different breeds you should get 1 of each. i had a barred rock, her name was bella, she was a bit of a pig, she would eat alot and she would not let the others eat. but she was sweet.
