Need help deciding on which roo to keep :)

Keep the one that you like best and/or is best with the flock. As far as future egg color goes..???? I have a slw/ee pullet that has the beard, muffs, and green legs. I was hopefull that she would lay olive eggs because of all her ee features, but when she started laying it was dark brown eggs. It's kind of funny though because all my slw lay really light brown eggs and her mom lays a pretty seafoam green egg.

I just love that gray roo!I have some of the same type hens crossed with a RIR.Got some very nice red/white roos.I try to keep the ones with the best face feathers, that are the best/most friendly. So far I have got green/blue eggs from them.I like the red/white but the black/white is really nice too.The hens I got from the same hatch are penciled alot in a nice dark buff, with face feathers.Yellow, green and blue legged.I'm waiting for eggs to decide on them.I reckon they come in all colors, its the color of the egg the hen lays that will decide for now.

I would keep the silver. He is just my type.

I have EE looking similar and it's my favorite. I think mine is a girl though.

I also have two looking like your red one and they are going for sure.
I have six boys to choose from though, that's quite a variety.

As far as which one for blue or green eggs I don't know. I have found many different opinions but no confirmed explanation.
I would guess that it would depend on what hens you plan on breeding him with, but I don't really know.

So, I would agree that should go with the one you like the best. Either one should give you a variety in chick feather color.
My personal opinion would be the silver one. I think he looks the best, not just by color, but by his stance also. He just looks so proud, like he knows he has go it.

They are both nice to me too, I can't decide on looks alone but as others have said go for behaviour to determine if you can't decide, choose the nicer calmer roo that is good to his girls and to you, they will both make nice looking chicks, once they are fully feathered with their adult plumage the red may have the edge looks wise

I would keep the one you like the most. If you get rid of him, you'll probably end up wishing you wouldn't have. Or, you can do what I did-----I kept my 2 favorite! They get along fine, and each has his own hens who favor him. Threre was an upset though, I bought 2 EE hens at a swap meet, and one turned out to be a roo------he looks almost identical to your red one, but with green legs----now I have 3 roos! I'm probably keeping him too though, because the other EE---who is a hen---loves him, and a hen I just got last week loves him too! She is a marans cross, but looks like the new roo!
