Need help designing breeding stalls for chickens

I am building a new barn and want to add some chicken breeding stalls to it. Right now i have plans to build 4x10 breeding stalls.
I just wanted to make sure this was enough room to keep a trio or quad in since this is mainly what i have plans to be in the stalls
How many chickens will this hold? Is this enough room?
Does anyone have any pictures of their breeding stalls for me to look at. I am trying to plan for the stalls and figure out where i want the nesting boxes, roosting bars etc.

I think I have decided on putting the nestboxes on the outside so it doesn't use up space in the stall. Just in case that mattered

Trying to understand your set up. Would it be 1 roo & a couple of hens per stall, like a dog kennel set up. So certain breed would be separate from the other breeds. Is this where they will be all the time, or will they have access to a outside run.

Just a bit confused.

I get what you are speaking of, as I myself have built pens such as this before. I had an old garage that I converted into breeding pens. Three of the pens were about 4x12 and the other two were about 8x12. In my experience that was more than enough room for a pair, trio or a quad. Mine did not have runs attached either. To me runs are a luxury, they are fine in your large holding pens for birds during the non-breeding season when you dont want them in individual breeding pens. Plus runs were never practical for me because of the amount of predators we had on our property.

Hope the info helps you out. I am trying to draw up some new breeding pens for future construction this spring and am thinking about making 6x16 breeding pens for mainly LF that would hold at the most about 10-12 birds. I think I am going to try and build the house to have 4 of those pens so total size will be 24x16.

I am making breeding tractors. The rest of my group free ranges, but the roosters have a bachelor pad atm. We are currently building one as the guinea pig. It has a 2x4 frame that is 8x4 that I drilled 1 inch holes into that I have 1/2" pvc pipe hooped into. Then I will attach fencing over the hoops and make them a mini-coop to attach to it. This way I can keep the ones separate that I want to breed, let my hens free range that are my egg producers, and the breeders still get to eat grass and play in the dirt too.

I am interested in hearing others' input on this as well. I am currently building a 24' x 24' building. We just started it last weekend and are ready to start putting on the exterior siding and the roof.

Down one side I would like to put in 6 stalls that will be 4' x 12' with an aisle in the middle and some larger pens on the opposite side, specifics on this sided still to be decided. I will also be putting a divided run on the outside with a minimum of 4' x 10' run for each seperate stall.

Wasn't trying to hijack, just sounds like we have similar ideas
