Need help determining if roost bar is too close to nests

Thanks all....

I am convinced that I need to move the bar across the room. Yes, I thought they slept in those boxes but seems they all just sit on the bar, and all my eggs are coming during the day, so I'll adjust things a bit.

Great information to have!!

actually , I was told to use 2x4's for the roost because its easier on their feet .

So , hubby made our roost like a trillis with 2x4's... works great.

I did not want my pullets/ hens jumping up into nesting boxes , did not want eggs broken , so thats why all my nesting boxes are side by side on the floor of the coops . We have 8 nesting boxes in one coop and 6 in the other and they use ALL the nest . I do find as many as 6 - 8 eggs in same nest. but we have close to 100 head in our flock .

Do you already have proper roosts, too?

If not, then you may not have to get rid current nest box rests. As high as the top row of nest boxes is, they may need to have a place to jump up to prior to going in to lay. Try installing some roosts away from and higher than the nest boxes. (Like others have said...)
