Need help dosing meloxicam

Now, I'm belatedly responding to you. If Meloxicam helps and you do not think she has long left, I'd just use it, agreeing with your priority of keeping her comfortable for however long she has. Meloxicam is, actually, the RX anti-inflammatory of choice for backyard hens, considered safe at even fairly high doses, though some hens can experience GI upset with it. But it's the go-to for pain and inflammation, if you can get an RX. Otherwise, baby aspirin.
Hi, I know this is an old post but how long did the vet said she could take the Meloxicam for? Is it even safe long term for chronic conditions? My hen we suspect have EYP and needs to be in some type of pain meds to help her condition for whatever time she has left. However I read Meloxicam should not be used long term. But I only see it being used for osteoporosis. I just want my girl to be comfortable.

Thank you…
