Need help fast - 8 week old chicks very underweight UPDATE

i'm so sorry i didn't see your post yesterday to respond.

and i'm so glad that big nose (poor thing) is doing well.

i have had chicks that age that had fluctuating digestive problems and did that to me a time or two, so i would just keep an eye on her, and feel her crop in the mornings, if you can, to make sure it went down at night.

Goose, one of my roos, had several bouts like that before he really got things in gear. But he did get things in gear, and now he's a beautiful rir roo. Once or twice, i was able to just hold him and very gently massage his crop to help him out. He would generally be back to normal the next day.

You did the right thing by feeding her egg. Though, i might suggest that next time, you boil it first, just to keep her from getting a taste for raw eggs that will bite you back when your girls start laying.
