I don't have time to read through multiple pages from the search function (already looked through 2, lol!). I think one of my chicks has coccidiosis. Red droppings, hunched over, feathers fluffed up.

I need to know the exact medication I need to get at the store. I'm leaving in about 5 minutes... anyone?

eta: does anyone know if Dumor grower is medicated?

Sulmet is usually the easiest to find but be careful with the dosage as it is hard on kidneys.
Amprollium [Corid] is best. Harder to find & somewhat expensive.

Amprolium - brand name Corid - 9.6% liquid suspension
It's intended for use in cattle so you'll need to adjust the dosage for your chickens.

dosing info is on this BB - search for Corid

I read this on a website for treatment;

THE MILK FLUSH
for the treatment of
coccidiosis
4 lbs. of dried milk
2 lbs. of corn meal
2 lbs. of oatmeal
1 lb. of bran

This should be fed for 3-
5 days with no other feed
except greens.
(why this works):
the large amount of milk
makes the chicks thirsty
causing them to drink.
The milk sugar will
turn acid in the
stomach and the
added water will
flush out the system

I had to have dh pick it up and he got sulmet. I mixed 1/2 T in with a quart of water and put it in the brooder. One of the chicks was laying down (I thought it was dead) - very lethargic. I dosed her by hand with about 1/2t of the meducated water. They had some crumbles mixed with yogurt earlier and now I just have the plain feed in there now. Is there anything else I should do? How often should I dose that chick if she's not drinking> What happens if she doesn't eat?

the medicated water should be the ONLY source of water....
(no sugar water thus)
Keep dribbling the medicated water along the beak as often as you can until it is able to drink on its own (and then make sure it keeps drinking sufficiently )
If it does not drink then it does not get medicated.
