First time giving a broody hen babies. The babies are 33 hours old and she was given them at night when they were 18 hours old. Still no food or water. She pecks at them every time they try to come out and if they get out she pecks them until they are back under her. She is a first time going broody, she turned a year old at the end of February. I tried to break her before giving in and bought her babies. She has been broody for almost 4 weeks. When do I intervene? I know they should have the yolk they ate while hatching up to 48 hours. I’m just wanting to do this right, she was rejected by babies 2 days ago because I was in aware of their age and they were too old. Any tips help! Thank you 😊

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
If she doesn't feed them by tomorrow and keeps pecking them you're going to have to toss her into a broody breaker and raise those chicks yourself. I had a hen similar to this and she was so fixated on incubating she lost sight of the fact she that had to raise what hatched out of her incubation efforts. She had a few screws loose and was never permitted to set again.

Welcome to BYC.
Put a bowl of feed and a waterer(make sure its shallow so they can't drown) right in front of her. She will (should) get excited and call them out to eat.
