Im on the BYC group on facebook, and there arent many people trying to help this poor lady. Her chick hatched and part of the yolk was not absorbed. It doing fine and she has seperated it. She doesnt know what to do about it.

if she tied off the yolk as close to the body as possible with dental floss work? Wait for the yolk to dry, then cut it off? Would this work? I want to give her good info. Of course, we would wait to see if it absorbed itself first.

Oh! BtW hatched this morning.
edit: I think shes gonna go ahead and tie it off. It hasnt absorbed at all aparently. Just hope this is okay?

When a chick hatches out before the yolk is absorbed, the best thing in my opinion to do is to separate it out in a little cup or bowl, but leave it in the incubator so it stays warm and give it time to finish absorbing the yolk.

She sperated it and put it back in the bator. She hasnt updated with any news yet. She said it didnt absorb any from the time it hatched.
I dont think ill need this anymore. I just needed quick help. I think shes already made a decision, but I have no clue!
