what kind of Chicken do I need to get.
which Chicken give you the brown egg?

Hello and welcome to BYC!

There are several places you can find chickens, a lot of it depends on what breed you want and when you want them. You can use the online hatcheries that will mail chicks to you but you may have to wait until the first of the year to get them. You can ask others in your area if they have any for sale or if they know someone that has some for sale. Posting on your state thread may be helpful too, here's the link for Arizona:

If there are any poultry sales in your area, the state thread might be able to help you find them

There are a lot of chickens that lay brown eggs. You'll want to find the breed that works best for your environment and needs. Some birds will handle your weather better than others. Again, talk to the other members on the Arizona thread and find out what they recommend. Australorps may be a good choice for you, they lay nice light brown eggs and are friendly, hardy birds. Barred Rocks are good dependable birds as are Orpingtons.
