Hi, for the last 3 weeks my rooster has this problem, the middle toes on both feet at the tip appear to be inflammed, the toenails are shifting upwards, I've noticed that in the past few days. He doesn't want to walk and stays lying on the ground as seen in the pics. When in the henhouse he separates himself from the two hens by sitting in a corner or hiding, sometimes both hens stand near him. He does eat whatever is close but I've yet to see him drink on his own. I tried an epsom salt in warm water for his feet, but don't know if it will help him. It's the first time I see something like this ever. Would anyone know what's going on and how it can be cured?

How old is he?
How long have you had him?
What do you feed him?
Is he the only rooster you have?
Where are you located in the world?
Since he is sitting/not walking and only eats if food is close by, you can try placing him in a sling to help him out. He would need to be where you can monitor him while in the sling.

I would have to take a guess and say he has Bumblefoot which is an infection of the feet. Photos of the bottom of the foot would be good. He probably has infection at the toe ends, but it's hard to know.
Soaking in epsom salts may help reduce inflammation. The one toe, the end looks blackened like there's a scab. The scab may soften during soaking so you can remove that to see if there's any hardened pus that needs to come out, but if you have vet care, that is best.

He is around 2 years old, I've had him since he was a chick, he is fed mostly a diet of grains with occasional veges, I have 2 other roosters (they are seperate), and I'm from Texas, I guess I will continue using epsom salt for removing that buildup and making him that sling, thanks. Any info that can help is much appreciated.
