Need help from parent with experience w/sick kids

This is good advice. The stomach virus is horrible. Don't let him drink a lot for the next couple of hours. The Peditricians use to tell me at least a tablespoon every hour. Cold clothes on the head helps them feel better. If he is still throwing up in the morning I would buy some pediylte and maybe mix with 7up if he doesn't like the taste.

Lysol spray to keep everyone else from getting it!

my daughter had this last spring while we were on vacation. I fed her ice chips for 2 days. Then 7up (this is what I always had as a kid) even though now doctors don't recommend anything with sugar. Pedialyte would be good if he'll drink it, my daughter wouldn't. Don't give him any food for the next 24 hours or so, then start slow with the B.R.A.T. diet, that's banana, rice, applesauce and toast in small quantities.

I hope he feels better real soon!

Oh you are bringing back memories... we had this beginning of November. Myself and my youngest daughter got it so bad we were sick for a week. My other two kids were maybe 24 hrs. And of course hubby missed it all. Figures!

We didn't eat or drink anything for several hours. Then it was slow sips and try to get some rest. I didn't medicate myself or any of them for the fever until after our stomachs subsided. Took me three days to break the fever.

Good luck and prayers you or anyone else does not get it.

Make sure he gets enough water, or he will become very dehydrated and VERY sick. With an upset stomach he should only eat white flour because it is easy on the stomach. Get him some Saltines, that what my mom always gave me when I was sick

Have him sip 7up to help relieve his stomach pains. But keeping him hydrated with water is the most important thing.

Oh Lord, my 3 year old had this mess the week of Thanksgiving and gave it to me and hubby. NONE of us has ever been that sick in our lives!!! Sherbert, popsicles, 7UP and a cold wet rag on his head. It took us all 2 weeks to get over it, and I DO NOT want it ever again. IF he can eat great, if not, fluids are more important and when you have one that sick give him whatever he CAN and WILL drink. Also, if he wants to nibble on something, crackers, graham crackers, and pretzels are good.

My oldest DD had to deal with all three of my grandboys, ages 6, 4 & 3, all throwing up with this virus all last weekend. The schools around here are full of it, and all of the ER's are slammed with the old and young who have become dehydrated because of it with some having to be admitted, they are so sick. This stuff is nasty!

Hoping your son feels better soon. Hugs and prayers for you both.
