Need help getting started

Hi Everyone. My name is Chico. I live on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina and I want to keep 3 or 4 laying hens I have absolutely no idea what I am doing nor where to start. Want to build a small ( as possible) tractor type coop or at least one that can be moved around easily. Am on 1.5 acr and have coons, bobcats, coyotes, etc. so the birds will be confined pretty much full time. Also have very little sun---many oak trees, lots of shade, so very little grass.
Any and all help, advice and criticism is deeply appreciated.
