Need Help- Idea For Opening door on Coop?

We have our pre-existing coop, but are fencing off the veggie garden for the 2 girls. We have had too much damage to our flower beds, etc. Question- we need to add a door/convert a window, on the coop, so that we can open it without going into the garden. We could modify a window to become a door to the far right (south side) that would open up right into the fenced area. But- how could we latch it/hinge it so we could use a rope to open it? And latch it at night without going in?

Ideas, with photos please? I have looked at a lot of pics here, but not many have close ups or details. We're thinking something like a doggy door, but homemade...

My husband found a ball bearing center drawer guide, that hopefully will work. Then we'll put pvc on the top, with cord to open. Will post pics if we can get it up and running! Any other ideas???

I am in the process of building my 1st coop..but I am going to use an eyebolt connected to the door with a rope connected to that and run through a pulley and the other end of the rope attached to a hook latch which when pulled tight(open) will hook to another eyebolt screwed to the wall framing.

And how are you going to secure it closed at night???

Just with a slide lock on the inside...which I know is not what u want to do.
