Purchased this bird with a batch of ISA brown 5 weeks ago. In reading up I’m thinking male. Upon looking at pictures someone told me it might be a leghorn. It’s got brown speckles in it feathering. Can anyone help?

I’ve heard the term Golden Comet before too. My females I got at the same time have that reddish brown coloring with flecks of cream.

What is the actual difference between an ISA brown and sex link and golden comets? First time with this breed.

Some hatcheries use the name interchangeably. The red sex-links are Leghorns crossed with a red American chicken, usually Rhode Island Red or New Hampshire. The name depends on the exact cross used. A red sex-link is technically any hybrid with red hens and "other" roosters.

All ISA Browns, Golden Comets, pick your hatchery name red sex links are red sex links. But not all red sex links are ISA Browns or Golden Comets.

Depending on which red rooster is over what white based or silver laced Wyandotte hen will get you a particular brand of red sex link.

There is a difference.
ISA brown and Golden Comets are RSLs.
But they aren't the same.

Two good answers.
