So I currently have a flock of 10 outside and 3 in the brooder. I was set in stopping here, for now as 13 is my lucky number.
Well today I had 3 stranger chickens show up in my yard. I was shocked and first thing I did was grab my scratch and lured them into an old playhouse I'm in the middle of converting to a big house for my ladies. We have strict laws in my city and we have to keep in fenced area...so I asked all around and turns out these guys and/or gals have been on their own for 3 - 4 weeks now! Their owner was arrested and/or deported. No clue. So now they are in confinement from our flock for a month.
1 is a barred rock, little one is a Rhode Island red but this 3rd one, white and brownish-orange....not sure. Also if anyone can help determine sex.. I want to say pullet but not sure.
Thanks

She's definitely a mix. The bluish legs, pea comb and colors make me think Easter Egger, but I don't think you're going to get blue eggs from her with that much yellow in her legs.

I wanted to immediately say EE myself but the yellow legs threw me off.

I'm okay with not getting blue eggs, I have Cream Legbars in the brooder, 1 boy and 2 girls. I'll have my fair share of blue Eggers soon :)

Also, I think they're all pullets at about 18 weeks old. A few more weeks (4-6) and they should be laying.
I'm really hoping so! I know barred rocks tend to have big combs and wattles. Is it the same for RIRs? I've not had any of those before so not positive.
Also thanks for replying!

These look like my feed store quality birds. I don't show, so my feed store birds work great. You can't eat those awards anyway, and all eggs taste great! I'd say you got one heck of a deal!

I know it! 3 almost mature enough.to lay eggs show up at my house. Such luck! Now my husband is calling me the chicken whisperer because they came right up to me but ran from him and the kids. Of course I had food and they were obviously hungry.

No, I think the red bird and barred Rock are cockerels. I'm uncertain on the white and brown bird but lean toward pullet on that one.
Yea when I first saw them I immediately thought those 2 were cockerels too. But was hoping I was wrong because I was wrong on my barred rock. Turned out she was over developed early. So was hoping the Se for these.
