Need help identifying this object

I posted a few days ago and got a few responses but now answers. In hopes that someone out there knows what this is, so I thought I'd post again. I found it in a nesting box in the morning while collecting eggs. It is kinda rubbery in texture and was found in the three pieces seen in the picture. I have hens ranging in age from 3+ years down to 1 year of age. Thanks in advance, and I hope someone knows what this thing is.

Chickens occasionally lay odd things. I'm gonna say that is what is called in the UK a "lash".

Thank you, thank you IMP for the info and links. I think a "Lash" makes the most sense and looks the most like what I found. I can breath a sigh of relieve now.
