need help mean doe rabbit

The question here not asked is how old is this doe?
under 6 months , older than 6 months?
Nz should not be bred before 6 to 8 months old or 8 lbs. that is the general rule.
Rabbits DO NOT come into heat like a cat or dog, they are induced ovulators, meaning they ovulate when a buck is mounting them.

"Some" NewZelands are mean by nature, bred from mean mothers. OR they were not handled much as kits and have no way of understanding you are not going to eat them everytime you stick your hand in the cage.

Rabbit mothers do not generally eat their kits while they are alive. if the kits are born still born, then yes they will eat them in order to prevent a preditor from discovering the nest and killing any remaining kits.

Some Does will on the other hand just kill the babys , this happens due to inexperience, stupidity, Sick kits, genetic defects, drastic weather such as severe cold, or they see the kits as a threat.
They will also sometimes urinate on the kits, especially if the weather is cold and they want to camp out in a nice warm nest box.or they are a dirty rabbit and figure the next box is a place to go potty.
urinating on the kits is toxic and will poison the babys, plus they will die of exposure while under a huge pile of hay and fur. baby rabbits cannot regulate their own body temperature untill they are near a week old and fur has started to develope.

dead kit clean up is a necessary evil, one instinct that can not be bred out of them.
