Need Help on Coop Design from Shipping Crates

Now you're starting to think outside the box, or inside it, or however this saying should be applied to this concept. As an egg laying box in an outside run, that would work great. One thing you could think of doing too, is to make the pop door double as an ramp, it could be a bit wider than the board pictured, and have some more traction.

One idea would be to market this as something to first use as an brooder that can then be used as an egg laying nest.
 
Thank you. Some customers picked it out for brooding and then egg laying -- just like you said. Mine has done well as an egg-layer in an outdoor run for 5 hens and a rooster. They laid all their eggs in the box except for one. I average 3 to 4 eggs a day.
