Need help please 🙏 fix bottom incubator

Hi, I borrowed a styrofoam incubator and when I cleaned it, the product I used was too strong and melted the inside styrofoam bottom part . It's look like a sponge. What can I put to seal it, smooth it to be easy to clean in the future but still safe for use it again (eggs & chicks)?

What cleaner did you use?

It's look like a sponge.

Will it still hold water for humidity and mantain correct temp?

What can I put to seal it, smooth it to be easy to clean in the future but still safe for use it again (eggs & chicks)?

I used power spay down soap.
Yes, it seem to hold water.
I've even looked for buying the bottom only but no luck.
