In the Brooder
Just wondering if you could help me understand a few things.
I have 1 drake 2 female muscovy ducks
and 1 has just started laying eggs. (Not sure which one as they both look the same one has more red on the face then the other).
its full winter here in australia and the water ponds turns to ice a night time.
As my duck only lays 1 eggs each day she lays it, and gets off and doesn't go back till the next day.
She is laying them in the same nesting box each day so far she has 3 eggs.
1)Should she be on them during the day,
-on and off.
2) Would they freezer over night?
3) When should I check to see if they are fertile? After she lays the whole clutch?
she is laying them with chicken eggs. the chickens sit on them most of the day the duck never gets a chance to sit in there.
In the nesting box there are 3 duck eggs and 5 chicken (hen) eggs.
My ducks are only 7-8 months old I think.
Thanks for your help
And advice.
