Hi! I am watching my boyfriends baby turkeys while he is away hunting, and he doesn’t have service. Won’t be back for a few days. The two poults have started sneezing and I’m worried about them. No runny eyes or nose, but their poop is slightly darker and much runnier than normal. They are also living with 5 guinea fowl babies, I’m not sure if that is bad or not. It’s his first swing at birds in general.

I’m not sure how old they are, but have included pictures. They’ve just started flapping but are still pretty fuzzy. He got them a week before Christmas.

I’ve included pictures of their feed/poop/bodies/bedding. Can someone please let me know if there is medicine I can get them or any steps to help them not get worse? I saw someone in a different post mention VetRX, but since I have 0 idea about these things I’d thought it best to create an account and ask w

How often are they sneezing? Sometimes with the crumbles as babies they can get some of it in their nostrils, or sometimes when they drink they stick their nostrils under and end up sneezing. The dust from the wood chips could be bothering them some too (it looks pretty finely chopped up from the photo but maybe not). If their poop is still normal at least most of the time I wouldn't worry too much unless you notice them starting to act lethargic. Someone else may have advice though, so don't take mine at 100%. I've just had poults grow up that sneeze occasionally but not often and still acted chipper and grew up fine.

They are sneezing pretty frequently-maybe once every minute or two. I'll try a bigger chip size for their bedding and see if that helps! They definitely aren't lethargic. The second I got them out of they were sprinting all over creation and flapping about :wee

Yeah if they're super flighty and excited I can definitely see them getting some of that flake dust kicked up into their sinuses. Definitely give different bedding a shot I think and see how it works out! If it doesn't improve then I might be a bit more concerned.
