I have a broody hen I put a couple of chicks under her last night she has seemed to do great and chicks are happy as well! I have three cochin chicks in the house right now that are a week old would it be a bad idea to put them under her tonight? I would much rather put them outside with a good mama than have to keep them in my house in the brooder.....what to do I have no idea please help me an info is helpful

I have had a hen with 1 week chicks, i put day old chciks under her and she took them in. I would put them under her, but keep an eye out to see how she reacts.

and watch the babies, make sure the 1 week olds don't pick on the newbies. but they're probably close enough in size that it'd be okay.

Try and wait til mama is sleepin. Then I'd try and sneak em under her that way by the time she notices her babies have multiplied they'll have her scent on them. But do keep a VERY close eye on this.

Thanks I had all these babies together until last night and they all seemed to enjoy each others company with no quareling! I am just hoping for the best!
